The U.S. Pain Foundation is pleased to announce Barbra Watson as its new Director of Communications. In this role, Watson is responsible for the organization’s overall communications strategy, including branding/co-branding, public relations, coordinating social media content and more. 

“Barbra’s extensive media experience, along with her expertise in healthcare and nonprofit communications makes her a wonderful addition to our team,”  says Nicole Hemmenway, CEO of the U.S. Pain Foundation. “She brings with her a wealth of knowledge and is passionate about working  for a mission-driven organization. With a deep understanding of how to highlight patient stories to connect with a larger audience, we are excited to have her join U.S. Pain to help us continue to expand our outreach and provide more support and help to the chronic pain community.”

Her previous experience includes Boston Children’s Hospital, The Muscular Dystrophy Association and Special Olympics. For the past 20 years, Watson has served as a top public relations and media consultant for clients in both the public and nonprofit sector working to develop strategic communications plans, build key relationships with the media, and position executives as thought leaders. 

Watson holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Boston College, and Master of Arts in Mass Communication and Public Relations from the University of Florida. In her free time, she likes to travel and spend time with her family.
