U.S. Pain was one of several organizations to sponsor 58 children with chronic pain and their families to attend Pediatric Pain Camp at The Center for Courageous Kids, a facility in Scottsville, KY, that offers summer camp programming for kids with serious illnesses. The camp provides activities suitable for children with different abilities and offers an on-site medical center staffed by a full-time doctor.

The campers came together from all across the country July 31 through August 1 for a chance to have fun, connect with one another, and quite simply – be kids. To view a slideshow from the week, click here.

“Compassion and support hit like a juggernaut, against the relentless barrage of pain these children battle throughout the year,” says Robyn Soldevilla, one of the parents who attended. “For one week, love and hope emerges as a humongous bear hug. To say we are grateful for this camp understates the amazing healing power we experienced. It’s an honor to draw inspiration from such fierce and beautiful people!”

U.S. Pain raised funding toward scholarships for the camp through its Points for Pain and Pediatric Pain Warriors Program. To donate to Points for Pain, click here.
