In August, we put out the call for videos stories from our community. The stories we received were incredibly courageous, inspiring, and raw. The patients who shared about their experiences come from all walks of life. They were of all ages, all ethnicities, with all types of pain, from all across the country–and even around the world.
In honor of Pain Awareness Month and our campaign theme, #LetsTalkAboutPain, we’re sharing one video story each day.
So far we’ve shared eight stories:
Pooja P. – August 31
Candace J. – September 1
Karaleigh S. – September 2
Arun N. – September 3
Kimberly B. – September 4
Jenny H. – September 5
Elisa F. – September 6
Joycelynn P. – September 7
Katie E. – September 8
“We are so incredibly proud of all the individuals who bravely shared their stories,” says Nicole Hemmenway, Interim CEO of U.S. Pain Foundation. “It’s not easy to talk about your pain in a public setting. But it’s so important for creating awareness.”
Everyone who submitted a video as part of the initiative will receive a Pain Awareness Month bracelet and copy of our new “Living Well with Chronic Pain” booklet. One lucky winner–Tim B.–is the recipient of the grand prize, which includes an Enso pain-relief device, Thrive Tape, two books, and U.S. Pain Foundation-themed goodies.
To catch the stories as they come out in real time, subscribe to our YouTube channel or follow us on Facebook & Twitter throughout September.
