A tribute to a dedicated pain warrior who passed away in 2016, The Joselynn Badman Ambassador of the Year Award is an annual recognition presented to a volunteer who has excelled in grassroots awareness and advocacy efforts for the pain community. The award is given to a U.S. Pain Foundation ambassador and/or advocate who inspires others to make a positive difference by aligning with the organization’s mission to empower, educate, connect, and advocate for people living with chronic conditions that cause pain.

U.S. Pain welcomes anyone from the public to submit a nomination for an individual deserving of this prestigious honor. The individual must be currently registered as a U.S. Pain Foundation volunteer advocate and/or ambassador.

“There are so many pain warriors who go above and beyond their chronic pain to raise awareness for the pain community or advocate for sound policy change,” says Nicole Hemmenway, interim CEO of U.S. Pain Foundation. “We’re looking for that one, unique volunteer who empowered and inspired others in 2019.”

Nominations must be made by someone other than the nominee, as self-nominations will not be accepted. A nominations committee made up of members from the U.S. Pain team will review all submissions and select an awardee who exemplifies a willingness to give back to the pain community through U.S. Pain Foundation-driven programs, initiatives and campaigns. Efforts and commitment of time, accomplishments, impact to the pain community and enhancement of the lives of others will also be taken into consideration by the nominations committee.

The recipient of the Joselynn Badman Ambassador of the Year Award will be announced in the February 2020 newsletter.
