As part of our Pain Awareness Month Storyathon, we’re collecting 3-5 minute video stories from real people with pain, talking about their personal experiences–from how they were diagnosed to how pain affects their daily life. We’ll be selecting a handful of videos to share throughout September on social media.

Remember: talking about pain is the only way we can create understanding, awareness, and most importantly: change.

Have you submitted your story yet?

The videos we’ve received so far are incredibly poignant and candid. But we want to hear from more of our community! Submit your video story here by this Friday, August 9. Simply fill out the form and then follow the instructions for uploading your video.

Receive a gift and be entered to win!

Whether or not your video is chosen to be shared, all who submit a video will receive a special-edition pain awareness bracelet and a copy of our new Living with Pain guidebook. You’ll also be entered to win a grand prize worth $325, which includes an ENSO high-frequency impulse therapy device, two books on chronic pain, U.S. Pain gear (including a water bottle, ice pack, and T-shirt), and more!

Don’t be shy!

It can seem daunting, but remember you can record your video from the comfort of your home, and that the goal is to be real: you don’t have to be wearing make up or even sitting upright. You can also practice as many times as you want until you’re happy with your video. Still nervous? Check out some examples from our staff: here and here.

We hope you’ll participate and discover how empowering and important it is to share your story.
