May’s “Building Your Toolbox” event will be about the daily energy routine and Qigong, featuring Paula Mintzies, DSW, MSW. Qigong is a system of coordinated body posture and movement, breathing, and mediation to promote health, often called “energy work.” The event is Tuesday, May 4, at 7:30 pm ET.

Mintzies has her Masters and Doctorate in Social Work. She has worked at an integrative health care practice at the Pain and Injury Center of Greater Washington for 16 years. Her focus is on strengthening mind-body tools to help others reach the best quality of life possible.

Mintzies has dealt with fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue for over 30 years. She has been practicing Energy Medicine, Qigong, and Tai Chi for over 10 years. It is part of her personal commitment to maintain the best possible quality of life.

The series is unique in that unlike traditional webinars, the event is set up so participants can see, hear, and interact with one another. Mintzies will present for a small portion of the time, and then we will allow for a question and answer period. The conversation is moderated by Gwenn Herman, LCSW, DCSW, Pain Connection’s Clinical Director, with assistance from long-time support group leader Bobbi Blades.
