Wednesday, September 9 | 12–1 p.m. ET
U.S. Capitol Visitor Center | SVC 201-00
Join U.S. Pain Foundation on Capitol Hill for a congressional lunch briefing bringing together people with lived experience, researchers, advocates, and policy leaders to discuss gaps in chronic pain treatment and data—and bipartisan efforts to address them, including the Advancing Research for Chronic Pain Act and the Relief of Chronic Pain Act.
Featured speakers include Linda Porter, Ph.D., former Director of NIH’s Office of Pain Policy and Planning; Ian D. Meng, Ph.D., Director of the Center for Pain Research at the University of New England; Cindy Steinberg, Director of Policy and Advocacy, U.S. Pain Foundation; and Kate Benson, U.S. Coast Guard veteran, pain advocate, U.S. Pain Foundation volunteer, and peer support group leader
Kate will also share her lived experience with chronic pain and perspective on why these policy efforts matter to patients.
