U.S. Pain Foundation was proud to participate in the RetreatMigraine 2020 digital conference, hosted by CHAMP (Coalition for Headache and Migraine Patients), Nov. 5 through 9. The agenda was chock-full of special presentations, workshops, and activities geared toward empowering, educating, and supporting patients living with migraine and headache disorders.
U.S. Pain Foundation hosted an event on Nov. 8, “The Power of Local Media: Sharing Your Story as an Op-Ed” featuring Ed Coghlan, a media expert and former editor of the National Pain Report. Coghlan discussed how to craft a compelling story for print media and answered questions from the audience. He encourage attendees to focus on a timely ask; as an example, he discussed the need to improve access to telehealth.
Participants also had the opportunity to sign up to receive one-on-one feedback on their pieces and will receive contact information for media in their area.
On the final day of the retreat, Cindy Steinberg, National Director of Policy and Advocacy, participated in a group discussion, “Advocacy Opportunities for People with Migraine,” reviewing key ways to get involved in pain policy.
U.S. Pain Foundation also was a co-sponsor of the mailing of RetreatMigraine packages, which included samples, educational information, and other items.
