Our theme for 2020 is #MyPainPlan and will focus on the vital importance of an individualized, multidisciplinary, multimodal approach to pain care—as well as the barriers patients face in accessing this type of care. Below, we detail four important ways to get involved.
We hope you will take an active part in the month’s activities!
We’ve launched a new website, MyPainPlan.org, where you can learn about a wide range of treatment options and create a custom “pain plan.” While supplies last, everyone who creates a plan via MyPainPlan.org will receive a free heating pad from Sunbeam! Get started.
In August, 1,581 of you responded to our survey on barriers to care, including obstacles like cost, insurance coverage and limits, concerns about side effects and risks, a lack of information, geographic location, and mobility issues. We are pleased to share a 19-page report on the results. Learn more.
Events kick off this Thursday with a presentation from Peter Abaci, MD, a renowned pain specialist and author, who will discuss creative strategies for relief from the comfort of home-which is especially relevant during the COVID-19 pandemic. Other events take place Sept. 17, 24, and 30. Register now.
